Our small band of merry men and women are moving forward with purpose to reconnect with the Helensville community and visitors to this district and to showcase how far we have come. To this end we have had a busy two months preparing for and working through these events.
Saturday October 15th
Big,Litte Event Hosted by Harcourts
This event, organised by Harcourt to facilitate the Helensville businesses and organisations to reconnect with the community after coming through a difficult two and a half years dealing with the pandemic. It was a success and many stallholders agreed that they would do it again if the opportunity arose. The atmosphere was welcoming and the weather perfect.
Sat. 22nd, Sun. 23rd, Mon 24th October Arts in the ‘Ville
A big thank you to our Volunteer Team for their efforts to make the Arts in the ‘Ville event a success. Our feature artists, Jeff Thomson with his corrugated cows and treasure hunt and Adrian Cook, the Tintype man, created a lot of interest. Riverside Crafts, vintage garden art, Megan’s photographic exhibition and our open doors invited exploration of the Hec Nicholl’s Barn, Hedley House, the Courthouse, with Kees Van Uden’s model carriages display and the Ken Pavish Post Office display.
Friday 4th and Saturday 5th November Haunted Museum Nights
Fundraising can be fun. We called upon the young brigade who frightened the beegeejus!!!!…. out of anyone who thought they were brave enough to step over the threshold after dark on these two nights.
Friday 11th November
We now have on display the War Memorabilia from the Kaipara RSA which is being closed while renovations are being carried out to the building. This will be an opportunity for those who have not had the chance before to visit and reflect on the lives of the local men and women who served.
